L-Carnitine (For Research Use Only)
Synthetic Amino Acid Derivative for Metabolic and Cellular Research
Product Description
L-Carnitine is a synthetic amino acid derivative synthesized from lysine and methionine, designed exclusively for laboratory research. It is intended for use in controlled in vitro and preclinical animal studies to investigate fatty acid metabolism and mitochondrial transport mechanisms. Not for human consumption, therapeutic use, or diagnostic applications.Research Applications
In Vitro Studies: Suitable for cell culture experiments, such as investigating L-Carnitine’s role in fatty acid transport in cell lines (e.g., C2C12 myoblasts or HepG2 hepatocytes) to study mitochondrial beta-oxidation pathways.
Preclinical Models: Ideal for animal-based research, such as rodent models (e.g., mice or rats) to examine L-Carnitine’s effects on energy metabolism or lipid homeostasis in controlled settings, such as models of induced metabolic stress.
Biochemical Analysis: Can be used to study compound stability, interactions with mitochondrial enzymes (e.g., carnitine palmitoyltransferase), or downstream effects on cellular energy production in laboratory environments.
Mechanism of Action (Research Context)
L-Carnitine facilitates fatty acid transport into mitochondria in experimental models, enabling researchers to study:
Modulation of beta-oxidation and energy metabolism in muscle or liver cell cultures.
Effects on lipid metabolism or mitochondrial function in preclinical animal models, such as rats subjected to controlled dietary or metabolic protocols.
Interactions with cellular metabolic pathways in controlled in vitro systems, such as primary cell cultures or tissue homogenates.
